Junior Merchants | Grades 1-3 | $11/student + GST | 90 minutes
Step into an original 1906 General Store and Hotel to uncover the role they played in early communities. Participate in a fun shopping activity. Stroll through the farm and greet the animals.
Harrison Homesteaders* | Grades 4 & up | $15/student + GST | 2 hours
Experience a day in the life of a homesteading child. Step into the role of a child from 1906 where there is always work to be done. Beginning with chores and tin piercing to butter churning and dancing, these hands-on activities will illustrate the challenges and joys in the everyday lives of children living in Harrison Mills. Classes are encouraged to dress up in period clothing. *Additional adult helpers are required.
A Kilby Christmas | Nov – Dec | All Grades | $15/student + GST | 2 hours
Experience the magic of historic Christmas charm. Students will discover what Christmas was like for the Kilby family through storytelling, a craft, a treat, and a special tour of the General Store.
Home Learner Groups | All grades | $11-15/student + GST | 90 minutes
We love home-school groups! Bring your group to us (minimum of 15 students) for a tailor-made program. All activities are hands-on and adjusted for multiple ages. Prices range according to activities offered (such as laundry, bannock making, etc.).




On-Site Tour Add-ons
$4/student + GST per add-on (each class must choose the same activity)
Butter Making | Year-Round | 45 minutes
Using an original butter churn, all hands are needed to turn heavy cream into delicious butter. Fresh bread and self-made butter complete this program.
Ice Cream Making | April – June | 45 minutes
Students have a first-hand experience at making ice cream the old-fashioned way! This fun and interactive demonstration allows students to learn by instruction & participation. The reward for their hard work is a sample of their freshly churned ice cream!
Apple Cider Pressing | Sept – Oct | 45 minutes
Students try their hand at turning apples into juice using our century-old apple press. Stories and samples are the reward for their hard work.



In-Class Programs
Timeless Toys | Grades 1 – 7 | $13/student + GST | 90 minutes
Let us come to you! Toys and games have been used for centuries to educate and entertain. Students rotate through activity centres experimenting with optical illusions, gravity toys, and table-top games. Students will make or colour their own take-home toy. Additional help is required. Mileage rates may apply.
