BC River’s Day

September 24

Celebrate BC Rivers Day at the confluence of the Fraser and Harrison rivers in Harrison Mills. We will be highlighting the many values of our two rivers by increasing public awareness & stewardship through interactive activities, interpretive walks & talks.

We will welcome Jocelyn Whalen, Environmental Project Coordinator of the Earthwise Society to speak at noon about their society and the projects they have along the Miami River, in Harrison Hot Springs.

Then from 1 pm until 2 pm the folks from O.W.L. (Orphaned Wildlife) Rehabilitation Society will talk about their society and the raptors their rescue, rehabilitate and release. O.W.L will bring two of their educational raptors for this presentation.

Regular admission applies. Kilby Historic Site is a designated provincial heritage site, operated by a charitable non-profit with a volunteer board. Your admission for this event goes towards the sustainability of the site for future generations. Help fulfil the Society’s mandate through attending events like this, as we strive to enrich the next generation through history, inspiring sense of wonder and deepen understanding of British Columbia’s heritage.
